PSCSW Presents Dr. Dan Gottlieb
The Tyranny of Technique: Where "Evidence-Based" Interventions Fail

This interactive workshop is designed for social workers and mental health professionals at all stages of their careers. Dr. Gottlieb will address how evidence based techniques can help, but sometimes may also do harm to our clients. As a group, we will address how and why clinicians may treat a diagnosis but may overlook the client's humanity. Dr. Gottlieb will discuss the situations where evidence based techniques are most effective and where they interfere. This conference will also explore the use of self, and the idea that the vulnerability of the therapist may be the best way to create a safe environment.
